It has been tough with COVID and planning a honeymoon, but my fiance and I had grand plans to travel abroad to a new country for our honeymoon, and it looks like that isn’t going to work, but finding somewhere in the US was tough.

I decided to book a smaller trip in hopes that the various of us can have an international honeymoon next year.

For right now I have various mornings planned in Eugene Oregon for the various of us. It seems like an uncommon pick however there is quite a bit to do there, and thankfully the various of us will happen to be there in peak grape season. There are tons of wineries that offer tastings. I also can get our hands on fresh grapes, jams, jellies and juice. I am a substantial grape fan apparently. There are bike trails, markets, gardens and parks that the various of us can go to. I kind of like that the area is legitimately chill, calm and low key, another pro is that legal weed is allowed there. My fiance and I could visit a cannabis dispensary if the people I was with and I want to. The various of us have never lived in a state that allows for recreational cannabis, so it could be quite an experience. I don’t legitimately like getting drunk and being crazy… You have to be wild at least 1 day on the honeymoon right? A trip to a cannabis store could be that fun day for us. I am not keen on smoking flowers or oil, however there are edibles that could be a great time.

I was relieved to learn that temperatures rarely go lower than 20 degree fahrenheit during winter in Spokane. Compared to the northern midwest, this isn’t so bad. I am a huge pop culture person. I love movies and I can quote, name actors, directors and even the years most films came out. You would be hard pressed to name a movie that I haven’t heard of. When my fiance and I decided to do a trip it just lucked out that we chose a place perfect for my obsession. You don’t think of Seattle, WAshington and pop culture. However, Seattle has a huge pop culture museum that is perfect for psychos like me. I am a bit of an animated movie fan and there is a Disney hero and villains exhibit that I loved. It has a lot of dresses, coats and pants all constructed to look like the animated versions. They even had some of the outfits from the live action Disney adaptations. One of the best exhibits was the horror film one. They had props, clothing and other pieces from movies like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, The Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Pet Sematary. I was super excited to see them all. The sets were very realistic with dripping blood for vampires, corpses hanging and zombie containment centers. My fiance and I toured the area in October which was perfect to get us in the Halloween spirit. I had never been in a museum that I really enjoyed before. I find museums kind of dull and stale. I usually look at exhibits and want to move on. I was so glad that I got to see the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture while on my trip. It made staying there worthwhile.

I can drive it in under 45 minutes. Visiting Libertyville, I was delighted with the historical buildings along Main Street. There are actually 84 restaurants, cafes and pubs available. The first Friday of the month, there’s live music, wine tastings and all sorts of refreshments. There’s a farmer’s market downtown where I can buy fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers from local growers. It is a rather lengthy commute for me to get to work, but I only need to go into the office three to four times per week. The other days, I’m able to work from home.

I always wanted to go to college in the state of Florida.

It didn’t matter if it was UF, FSU, or the University of Miami. I even applied to several colleges in the Tampa area. I was accepted to the University of South Florida and the cost for tuition and books was reasonable. I moved to the campus a few days before classes started. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable inside of my dormitory. I did not have access to open the windows and I had to get permission from the student services office if I wanted to put an air conditioner in the room. After two days of dealing with the hot Tampa sun and humidity, I decided to speak with the lady in the student services office. She was terribly rude and tried to tell me that the temperatures weren’t that warm. She told me that I was complaining too much already and it was only the month of August. I didn’t know what to say in return, so I walked out of the office and never got permission for the AC unit. I bought a large fan and put it in the room. It helps with the heat, but it was still very uncomfortable during the summer when I had two classes in Tampa Bay. I only stayed in the state of Florida for two years and then I transferred to a different college. The campus didn’t offer the program I wanted to study and I was tired of dealing with sunshine 365 days a year.
